Metagrid creates links between databases with information about historical persons. It relies on a federative system where about 35 projects make their data available. Currently, a pool of more than four million items is available containing more than 600,000 links. Data management and linking is based on a multi-step, semi-automatic process. The Metagrid widget offers the possibility to embed the generated links on the partner websites. Moreover, you can access all persons in the Metagrid Network via a search interface. The participating projects thus increase their visibility and users can access further relevant information about a person with a single click. Metagrid is an initiative developped by Dodis, on behalf of the Swiss Academy of Humanities and Social Sciences (SAGW).
